
Mr Jonathan Le Bourhis
Jonathan studied cinema at Sorbonne University before coming to Australia to complete a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) at UTAS and a Master of Asian and Pacific Studies at the ANU. He developed a broad interest in aesthetics and politics, film theory and history, anthropology, and cultural studies. His research projects included the representation of Pacific cultures in silent American cinema, women filmmakers in early Korean and Japanese cinema, and the French New Wave. Jonathan has professional experience in communications and visual media, research impact, public relations, and has worked extensively in the tertiary education sector in Australia. He develops and implements research communications strategies for DPA and liaises with internal and external stakeholders (government and policy agencies, regional organisations in the Pacific and other non-for-profit organisations). He supports key projects like the State of the Pacific and the Oceanic Diplomacy Workshop.
