Chris has worked in Indonesia for over ten years in the areas of local governance, law and justice, and community development with the World Bank, UNDP, and Australian Government-funded development programs. Immediately prior to commencing his PhD he was at DFAT in Canberra.
Chris holds a BA with First Class Honours in Indonesian Studies and an LLB (Hons) from Monash University, together with an LLM (International Legal Studies) from New York University.
Research Interest
His research focuses on politico-bureaucratic relations in Indonesia and their impact upon politics and policymaking, particularly at the subnational level.
