As part of the Pacific Technical Cooperation Session of the CEDAW Committee, this Talanoa focused on advancing the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, with an emphasis on fostering a resilient, inclusive, equitable, secure, and prosperous future for the region.

The session highlighted the critical role of gender-responsive approaches in addressing climate change and strengthening Pacific resilience. It brought together diverse perspectives to explore how women’s leadership and gender equality are central to sustainable development across the Pacific.

Hosted under the framework of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), this discussion reflected a growing regional commitment to inclusive, climate-smart policy and practice.
